Job Title: Youth and Young Adults Pastor
Reports To: Associate Pastor – Kellen Jones
Position Status: Full Time
Job Responsibilities:
The Youth and Young Adults Pastor will serve Northend Church by leading and modeling a life that is worth emulating to our Young Adults and High School ministries.
Responsibilities:
High School Pastoral Role (.6FTE)
Oversee all programs related to our high school ministries.
To provide weekly programming for our Jr. & Sr. High program.
Plan a yearly retreat for jr. & sr. youth along with a few large events each year ie. An all-nighter, fall kickoff event, end of school year event
Will raise up volunteers to lead and assist in the programs that are being run to address the physical and spiritual needs of the youth that come to Northend Church.
Work with Kids Pastor to oversee a junior leadership program (throughout school year)
Young Adults Pastoral Role (.3FTE)
Oversee and develop a vibrant ministry for young adults.
Will plan a yearly retreat for YA to supplement their spiritual journey.
Will establish a team of volunteers to help, assist and lead the YA ministry.
Develop a weekly plan of connecting in small groups or for connecting events.
Be committed to raising up leaders within his/her area of responsibility.
Preaching and Sunday morning responsibilities
Will preach upon request (Typically 4 times a year)
Will assist as requested in hosting Sunday services.
Pastoral Training Program; (.1FTE)
The pastoral training program is our commitment at Northend to raise up men and women by equipping them with skills and experience in leading a local church. As time and opportunity arises the area of focus will come out of conversation with the Senior pastor to provide experience in other areas of pastoral ministry. Such areas could be children, pastoral care, technology, discipleship administration or worship.

You are available to work flexible hours and can work collaboratively with the Northend pastoral team by contributing substantive and significant value to our church leadership.
You align theologically and philosophically with Northend’s vision, mission, and doctrines.
You are a self-starter and self- motivated with an ability to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
You are expected to work towards your next level theology degree or certification in an appropriate area of ministry. The candidate can ask for an education allowance towards pertinent courses.
Accountabilities
Agreement with MB Confession of Faith, and Mission and Vision statement of the church.
Report to the Associate Pastor.
Engage in the life of Northend Church
Regular, predictable, and on-time attendance is an essential job function.
Ability to work outside normal business hours is also essential
This person will be expected to attend, support, and participate where necessary in all “church wide “initiatives.”
Terms:
Wage – Competitive wage paid at 40 hours/week commensurate with experience
Vacation – 3 weeks of paid vacation plus additional unpaid time off as approved by the Lead Pastor
*In addition to vacation the Youth and Young Adult Pastor can take up to 2 Sundays off for personal reasons.
Ministry – 1 week of mission-oriented work outside the church as approved by the Lead Pastor
Benefits – As provided through the Canadian Mennonite Brethren Conference
Volunteer – You are expected to lead by example by volunteering 3-6 hours a week
Qualifications
1. Must be willing to complete a police background check
2. College graduate or equivalent work-related experience
5. Strong computer skills are imperative
7. Strong organizational skills
8. Have excellent command of English composition and punctuation
